Why are children not been given the swine flu vaccine?
Even though children are 10 times more likely to catch swine flu the government has decided not to place children in a high risk group meaning they will not receive a swine flu vaccine. The decision was taken because children who have contracted swine flu have generally suffered mild symptoms. Those children who are more likely to suffer complications should they catch swine flu will be offered a vaccine.
